About Adriene Russell

Bible teacher, author, and ministry leader

Why I do this

Jesus changed my life—both in this life and for eternity. That's not a cliché or religious language. It's the truth that drives everything I do.

I believe Jesus offers something the world desperately needs: hope, purpose, freedom, and a relationship with the God who loves us. This isn't about religion—it's about relationship. A real, transformative relationship with the living God who loves us enough to die for us and offers us abundant life when we surrender to Him.

When we accept Jesus as Savior, we're not just getting a ticket to heaven. We're inviting Him to be Lord of our lives—our leader, our guide, our King. Jesus saves us to work with Him in His kingdom, not to sit on the sidelines. And when we give Him all of our lives, not just the parts we're comfortable surrendering, that's when we experience the freedom and joy He promises.

Why Christians need to keep growing

Here's what I've seen over years of teaching: many Christians genuinely love Jesus but find themselves stuck or uncertain about how to grow deeper. They want a strong, vibrant relationship with Him but aren't sure where to start—or how to reignite passion that may have cooled over time.

Church leaders are doing their best to shepherd people at many different levels of spiritual growth and commitment. But a Sunday sermon has to speak to everyone at once, and what each person needs for their next step of growth can vary widely. What believers need is the opportunity to take personal responsibility for deepening their own relationship with Jesus—resources that meet them right where they are and help them move forward.

That's why I create these resources. Because I'm not standing in a pulpit speaking to a whole congregation, I can develop materials that help you pick up wherever you are and grow from there. And as you grow and change, you can come back to the same study with fresh eyes and discover new truths for your current season.

Some people are brand new in their faith and need direction. Some have walked with Jesus for years but need a fresh perspective to reignite their passion. Some feel stuck and need help moving forward. Wherever you are, my goal is to help you grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus and experience the abundant, victorious life He offers.

My approach to teaching

Everything I write starts with prayer. I ask God to direct me, inspire me, instruct me, and correct me when needed. This is all about bringing glory to Him, not building my own platform. Yes, Scripture deserves to be handled with respect and taught with integrity—but it's not about impressing people with theological knowledge. It's about pointing people to Jesus, because that's what all of Scripture does.

I believe God's Word isn't meant to stay on the page or in your head. It's meant to transform how you live Monday through Saturday, not just what you say on Sundays. That's why practical application is such a big part of my teaching. I want to help you bridge the gap between what Scripture says and how you actually live it out—at work, at home, in relationships, in the everyday moments that make up your week.

I also believe that everyone should have access to God's Word in a way they can engage with. That's why I created both comprehensive and easy-read versions of Victory in Jesus. Different people need different approaches, but everyone deserves to encounter biblical truth in a format that works for them. Making Scripture accessible isn't just practical—it's part of welcoming everyone to the table.

My journey

I serve at Deer Park First Baptist Church as Adult Bible Fellowship Coordinator, where I have the joy of walking alongside others in their spiritual journeys. I've led retreats, taught numerous Bible studies, and created resources that help people engage Scripture deeply and personally.

My professional background taught me how to communicate clearly, meet people where they are, and remove barriers to growth and understanding. Those skills have proven invaluable in ministry, but they're not what drives me. What drives me is the joy of seeing people encounter Jesus—really encounter Him—and watching lives transform as people surrender more fully to His love and lordship.

When I'm not writing or teaching, you'll find me serving at church, spending time in my sewing room (my creative outlet!), or developing new resources. I also run an Etsy shop called 4 King Jesus, where I create Christian-themed products designed as conversation starters and everyday reminders to keep your heart focused on what matters most.

What this is all about

At the end of the day, every resource I create—whether it's a comprehensive Bible study, an easy-read version, or a simple reminder on a coffee mug—exists for one purpose: to bring glory to God by pointing people to Jesus and helping them experience the freedom, victory, and abundant life He offers.

Jesus is the answer to what our hearts are searching for. He's the way, the truth, and the life. And my greatest joy is helping people know Him more deeply, serve Him more wholeheartedly, and live for Him more boldly.
